Hello Toneworks friends and family! It’s Amber and I’m so excited to share another Target Tune with all of you! This cute, fruit felt set comes with watermelon fractions, a fruit salad bowl, and an apple tree set which I’m going to break down today 🙂
Target Bullseye Spot Set: Fruit set
Make your own: Cut out a tree and 10 apples, each numbered
Tune: 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Lyrics: “Apple number ONE climbing up a tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!” Along comes Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be, and then SNAP! Apple ONE made it up the tree.”
Continue until you sing through all of the numbers
How to play: Lay the tree and apples on the floor/table/etc. Keep the apples off the tree until someone identifies that number and have them place that number on the tree. This is a twist to the original 5 Little Apples Song which focusing on counting and addition
Make it your own: When my clients are ready for a challenge, I have them place the apple piece on the apple seeds that correspond with that number
This lovely apple tree has been my go-to felt set when my clients are working on identifying the numbers 1-10 or addition. I would love to learn what adaptations you make as that would be sweeter than apple pie 🙂
