So today we are hitting the ground running with SHAPES!!!! Oh me oh my we love shapes around here…and this Target felt set! It actually comes with numbers 1-10, as well as shapes, so it is 100% necessary to have in your bag all the time. (I actually have 3 sets because you never know when you will leave one at home and then leave one at a client’s house, etc)

Target Bullseye Spot Set: Felt bag of shapes and numbers

Make your own: Trace and cut out shapes. The name of the shape is optional (some of my kids I use it, some I flip over)

Tune: Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See

Lyrics: “Blue circle, blue circle what do you see? I see a yellow star looking at me. Yellow star, yellow star, what do you see? I see a red heart looking at me.) Continue until you sing through all of the shapes.

How to play: Lay the shapes on the floor/table/etc, or pass them out one to every kid if you are with a group. I flip a drum over or grab a bucket for them to put their shape in after we sing the applicable one.

Make it your own: I like to mix it up by having the kids choose the next shape when it’s their turn.
