When it’s -4 degrees outside and the ground is covered in snow, it’s hard to avoid singing about winter during our sessions.  As I looked through my arsenal of interventions I noticed that I was seriously lacking in songs about snow.  The kids in our ECSE classrooms love scarves; whether they’re waving them, squishing them up, or playing peekaboo with them, we’re guaranteed to get some smiles and giggles.   For this Timeless Tunesday, I came up with a fun winter take on the familiar tune “Ten Little Indians” that will give your clients a chance to wave their colorful scarves as practice counting to ten and identifying various body parts!

Sing through the song while waving your scarves:

One little, two little, three little snowflakes

Four little, five little, six little snowflakes

Seven little, eight little, nine little snowflakes

Ten little snowflakes falling on my nose (rub scarf on nose)

Other fun body parts for kids to find are toes, tummy, head, knees, and hands.  I hope you all are staying warm out there and embracing the cold with new winter songs and activities!
