We love using Barefoot books in our sessions because of how diverse, inclusive and inspiring each story is! Barefoot books offer a variety of ways to experience their stories; our favorite are their singable books. Singable books are books that can be sung to a familiar tune, which make them more accessible for our clients. Barefoot books also have many of their singable books in animated videos on YouTube! These videos can help parents and family members learn the songs and sing-a-long at home! Below are the titles and YouTube links to some of our most frequently used books! As we have said in a past blog post, singable books are a great resource to have in our bag of tricks! Be sure to also check out our blog post about some of our other favorite singable books!
A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea
In this colorful, tongue-twister book, we swim to the bottom of the sea and meet 5 sea creatures along the way! Each verse of the book introduces a new animal and its place in the food chain, from the snail to the shark.
Driving my Tractor
This book is all about a busy farmer who picks up fifteen animals on his route, but runs into some issues along the way! This book is great for simple counting by using repetition and rhythm to make learning fun!
The Animal Boogie
This book offers a very catchy tune and the opportunity to learn about 6 animals of the jungle! This is a great book to use for movement, as everyone can shake and boogie while they read!
Walking Through the Jungle
This book allows everyone’s imagination to soar! We walk through the rainforest, scale a mountain, swim across the ocean, and still make it home for dinner!
We All Go Traveling By
In this book, we learn about different modes of transportation and color identification as we ride the streets to school on our yellow school bus! Be sure to check out our blog post all about the movements for this fun book!
Thank you for reading! We hope you have a great rest of your week!
