Discover music from all around the world in this weeks Spotify playlist. Cultures use music to serve a variety of purposes. Each of these musical pieces find a different way to express emotion and push the creativity of music making. Some of these songs may sound different, but that is because you don’t hear a lot music outside of the United States culture.

From right here the United States Sam Maher’s ‘New York’ composition featuring the unique and beautiful handpan instrument. Popular within the United Kingdom the Rheingans Sisters performance of ‘Makerel’, a wonderful folk duet. The tremendous instrumental skill in ‘Gat In Rupaktal’ by Anoushka Shankar, Tanmoy Bose, and Kenji Ota. The steady groove and soothing vocals in the piece ‘Tu Voles’, sung by Rokia Traoré. Popular in France, Germany, and the UK Chiwoniso Maraire performs her piece ‘Zvichapera’ with accompaniment from the african instrument Mbira.
