It is definitely stretchy band season at Toneworks! Visiting ECSE classrooms in the metro area means lots of traveling so we have to choose what we pack very carefully. I love my stretchy band because I can tuck it into literally any bag, and it fits. This intervention is perfect for small groups and can address so many goals. Our favorites include academic concepts like up and down or in and out, self-regulation, following directions, expressive language, and gross motor skills. Each time you sing through the song, choose a different way to move the stretchy band, like fast and slow, side to side, up and down, etc.
I adapted the lyrics minimally just to make it simpler for the kids to follow directions. The melody is the same as “One little, two little”.

This one is also fun with the parachute and each student can think of idea they can “load” into the dump truck to bump around.
